What is NECA-GB-PAC?

The National Electrical Contractors Association of Greater Boston Political Action Committee (NECA-GB-PAC) is a Massachusetts registered political committee with the Office of Campaign and Political Finance.  NECA-GB-PAC contributes to campaigns of candidates who share concerns about electrical contracting and bidding, public and private development and infrastructure programs, building codes, labor laws, and renewable energy projects.  It supports campaigns of candidates  who share these concerns, appreciate the electrical contracting community’s legislative and regulatory goals, and recognize the need for an open and fair state government.

Is NECA-GB-PAC registered with the State of Massachusetts?

Yes.  The Office of Campaign and Political Finance (OCPF) is the state regulator under Chapter 55 of the General Laws.  NECA-GB-PAC’s registration number with OCPF is 80848.

Can I contribute company money to NECA-GB-PAC?

No. Under state law, corporate contributions are prohibited. Please donate with a personal check or credit card.

Are there limitations on how much I can contribute to NECA-GB-PAC?

Yes.  There is a $500 per person and $200 per lobbyist yearly limit.

How old do I need to be to contribute to NECA-GB-PAC?

Individuals over the age of 18 can contribute to a PAC.

What forms of payment does NECA-GB-PAC accept?

NECA-GB-PAC gladly accepts personal checks or contributions via Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover Card through PayPal.

How do I send a contribution by personal check?

Are there limitations on how much NECA-GB-PAC can contribute to candidates?

Yes. Contributions by PACs are strictly limited under state law to a maximum of $500 per candidate per year, and $5,000 in the aggregate to party committees (state and local).

Are contributions to NECA-GB-PAC tax deductible?

No.

Does a donor need to provide personal information?

Yes.  For reporting and contact purposes, your name, home address, employer, occupation, phone, fax and e-mail are required.

Does NECA-GB-PAC contribute to one political party?

No.   NECA-GB-PAC contributes to campaigns of candidates based on criteria about the candidate’s position on issues supporting the electrical contracting industry.  Party affiliation is not included in that criterion.
